I am sickened and saddened, hearing Republican operatives engaging in “defensive projection”: accusing DEMS of doing what they’ve been criminally accused and/or convicted of doing themselves, and worse.
The goal: to take the heat off themselves when they’re accused of political and sexual crimes by saying, “The DEMS do it, too!”
Except that the DEMS don’t.
Here are the facts:

And please note: these facts were assembled before the Trump Administration’s crime spree had been in office for a full year, so the numbers have gone UP since these were assembled.
And GOP-controlled states have higher murder rates than DEM-controlled states do.
So, here’s the deal
If a GOP talking head or leader accuses a DEM of something, you’re pretty safe assuming that they’re guilty of it and working ahead of their own accusation so they can say, “The DEMS are doing it, too!”
Examples:
Marjorie Taylor Greene: “DEMS are pedophiles.” (Accusation on “60 Minutes” recently and plenty of times before.)
The Accusation: Hillary Clinton has been running a child sex trafficking ring out of a pizza place on the east coast. (This rumor got the pizza place shot up by a deranged person who actually believed it.)

The Facts:
At least one underage girl has accused Trump of rape. Mostly because the statute of limitations had expired, that was swept under the rug. The girl was cruelly harassed by unnamed individuals to drop the charge.

There is a video of a preteen child near an escalator being asked by Trump her age, and then saying, “In ten years, I might be dating her.”
And there’s his creepiness during Miss Teen America Pageants when he would go backstage while the contenders were changing.

BOTTOM LINE:
If the GOP is accusing DEMs of doing something nefarious or illegal, it’s most likely to lend “plausible deniability” and to establish “defensive pojection” in attenpts to cover their own malfeasance.
