The First Dozen DeForest Kelley Collection Clothing Items go LIVE on January 16th

January 10, 2023

Breaking news!

The first 12 or 13 items of DeForest Kelley’s clothing will go up on ebay on Monday, January 16th.

When they do, please access them from DeForestKelleyCollection.com OR be sure to type in (using these parentheses) “DeForest Kelley Collection” at ebay.

In the images below are a few of the shirts/sweaters that will be offered. Not all of what you see below will be in the first batch, but they WILL be offered as the weeks go by.

There’s a blue and yellow versionof the shirt De is wearing above, too, shown immediately below

De wore this shirt at a number of conventions.
Item 2012 “Bronzini” long Sleeved long collar shirt (1970’s/80’s  style?)
Size: M
Bright Orange/Red very fine thin fabric
Composition: ?? No label to identify fabric …thin light fabric with silky feel
Made in ?? …carries an Italian Brand name however no label to identify source.
Condition: Previously worn and in very good shape…
Item 9007 “Allen Lolly Nottingham England” V neck pullover Sweater
Size M
Dark Green
Composition: 100% Cashmere
Made in Scotland
Condition: Very good
FYI the brand is Allen Lolly. An Indian Company did a knock off of the logo tag, calling themselves Allen Solly so there is a lot of confusion on this brand; even the font is an almost direct copy except for the difference on the 1st capital letter “Lolly” has been changed to “Solly”.

About the procurement of De’s clothing:  Before and after DeForest Kelley passed away (as you’ll recall, if you’ve read my first book), De wanted any items of his clothing to go to his dearest friends. He had some of them (including the late John Stecko and Ray Cisneros) and me choose our favorite items.

After De passed away, Carolyn said she couldn’t bear the thought of returning home to find the balance of De’s clothing hanging in his closet, so she asked me to get rid of it: “Take it to a thrift shop, choose more items, whatever; I just want them gone.”

I chose additional items, but there were dozens remaining, and I couldn’t bear to just take them to a thrift shop and drop them off. To me, they were precious, as I had seen De in so many of them across the years. So I put them into bins in my North Hollywood garage… and then somehow managed to forget about them.

When I returned to Washington and unloaded in 2004, I found the boxes of clothing again, and put them into a shed.

Now that I’m approaching 72, it’s time to find homes for them with fans who will truly cherish them. So that’s why they will be offered on ebay starting January 16th, 2023.

These precious items are no longer stored on my premises, for obvious reasons.

They are in a secure location in Washington and not even I know where it is.
