Plans for Next Year’s EVER NEW Podcasts

December 14, 2022

On the last EVER NEW, Hannah McCrane and I asked listeners what they would like to see more of in 2023. We got some great responses!

The listeners agreed that they love the every-other-Saturday format, and that they would love to see a repeat visit (or visits!) with Amy Ulen. (Hannah and I heartily concur!!!)

They also want more DeForest Kelley stories, so I am going through my Kelley-related books (nine, including the six-volume Kelley Phone Tag series) to mark passages that will satisfy that craving.

In doing so, I found anecdotes of interest that were in the first edition (2001) of my first Kelley book that were left on the cutting room floor when the second edition (DeForest Kelley Up Close and Personal) came out in 2015 because I wanted to add in 55+ more pages of anecdotes that weren’t in the first edition. So, I will be revisiting some of the deleted incidents on this weekend’s EVER NEW and during future shows.

What else would you like to see happen on EVER NEW next year? Our ONE YEAR-anniversary show will be in January 2023.

This weekend’s show will be our 26th episode and our final 2022 show will happen on December 31, New Year’s Eve morning.

You can find all previous episodes at this link: http://ndbmedia.net/EN.html….

Oh!  And to follow up on the book I mentioned editing in the podcast immediately above, AWESOME BY ACCIDENT by Gene Rodgers, it was published last year and you can see the cover below, followed by the link to order it.

I highly recommend it!

In Other News

Maggie (my oldest goat) is feeling better. I have been offering her baking soda for a few days and her stomach has resumed its former shape. She is also getting bossy again, so she is apparently on the mend.

I was able to get Mr. Tumnus’s front hoof trimmed. It was the only one Lisa and I missed when we trimmed hooves lst week. We were pretty tired by the time we finished fifteen legs and I knew Mr. Tumnus would let me do his front foot when I got around to it days later (he loves foot tickles), so I called it a day and finally got around to finishing him off yesterday.

My plecos have reproduced again.  There are tiny plecos crusiing around in my 55-gallon tank this morning.  I’ve seen about ten of them so far but they are either pure white (easy to see against a dark rock or stumpy) or spotted and mostly black, so the black ones are harder to spot. Of course that means that more of the black ones will survive. They are so tiny that I’m sure a lot of them will get eaten by larger fish and the ghost shrimpgranddad who is well over a year old and  still doing fine.

And  have fancy-tailed guppies (and babies) galore.  I will have to sell some of them to pet stores and aqurium shops before much longer, because mytank can’t hold 50+ fish comfortably. But they sure are relaxing and enjoyable to watch. It’s a community tank with very peaceable fish, ecept that the male guppies are always after the females. I have enough live plants in the tank and hidey holes that they an get away much of the time, though.
