The weather is still nippy out, so today I walked 10K steps inside my house — no small feat, since I only have about 1000 square feet on my side of this structure.
I walked from my bedroom through my kitchen and into the living room (Critter Corral) and back again, well over 250 times, to get the 10K steps in. I played my Beverly Glenn Copeland CD so I knew how long I was walking. (I play it when I walk outdoors; one complete playthrough lasts the four miles.) I ended up replaying the first two songs to reach almost to 10K steps because my indoor steps aren’t as long as my outdoor strides. I’m now just 600 steps away from 11K steps, which I will certainly reach by day’s end.
I walked outdoors yesterday but it was very windy and the wind chill factor brought the temps far below the 43 degrees that showed on the thermometer. That’s why I decided to walk indoors today. Bundling up is fine, so I ended up having a toasty torso yesterday, but the temperature wasn’t supposed to reach 43 until 2PM today and I didn’t want to wait that long to walk, so I just decided to do it in the house.
The cats thought I was nuts! They could not figure out why I was rotating through the rooms like one possessed! Poor critters. They thought Dad-Cat had lost his ever-lovin’ marbles! I’m pretty predictable usually on a daily basis — but not today. They finally figured it out about the time I was winding down. They took up perches along the route (on countertops or cabinet tops) and reached out and tapped me at times, counting coup as I went by…
I’m at loose ends today. Everything is pretty well caught up, so there isn’t much to do. I don’t want to take a nap this late in the day or I won’t sleep well tonight.
Since I don’t have anything else to report (I just wrote another blog post on my other website at yellowballoonpublications.com), I guess I’ll just shut up now and go read a book, watch a movie, or something! So, carry on with whatever you were doing before I interrupted you! HUGS!
