My new wind chimes came in last night. I love ’em!
I put them on the back of my home just outside my office den so I can hear them when the wind blows even if my windows are closed.
On a very windy day I’ll need to bring them in, though. They’d drive everybody crazy if they were banging wildly, endlessly.
In fact, the instructions say to bring them in during inclement weather and high winds. Bad weather isn’t good for them.
I put them up under the eaves so the wooden thing above and the pipes can’t get rained on unless there’s a bad sideways wind — and again, if there is, I would bring them in and hang them inside my bedroom window.
Gentle breezes make them sound soooo lovely. Relaxing. Refreshing. Rejuvenating. Ahhhh-some!
I looked at listened to scores of options. Only one other floated my boat as well as this one, but it was $150.00 and I’m not going there for wind chimes when a $41 set will serve just as well. And the $150 set was huge. It sounded awesome, but not all that much different…

I finished CRONKITE and am reading BELOVED now by Toni Morrison, one of the books banned by far-right ideologues. I can see why, since they’re so against teaching Critical Race Theory (which is only taught in colleges and higher education courses, but they’re claiming that elementary and middle grade school are teaching CRT. I only wish it was being taught before or during middle school! In my opinion, that’s too late to teach it. Young POC are exposed to racism before they’re in middle school, as are white kids (by their parents and caregivers). The sooner kids learn that discrimination is wrong, the better, in my book.
My next few books are all going to be humor books. I need to break out of the history/non-fiction niche every so often to keep my equilibrium. I’ve downloaded samples of some of the reputedly “funniest” books people have recommended, to see if the humor hits my funny bone before I buy them outright. I’ll let you know when I get to them. I know the Dave Barry and Betty White books will float my boat, but I haven’t heard of the other authors, so I’m skeptical. (Dave Barry can get downright juvenile, too, at times, but most of the time he hits it out of the ball park for me.)
