Walked Down the Street (40 Minutes) Plus 30 Times Around the Back Yard Today

June 15, 2021

I wore myself out this morning walking so much at two different times.

The first time was about 6:30a.m. when I took 30 laps around part of my back yard (which is 100 steps around for one rotation, not 50 as reported earlier).

I didn’t get overly tired then, so at about 10 I decided to try walking to the end of my road and back (usually a 30 minute RT), but at a leisurely, post-surgery pace.  It took me about 40 minutes and I was glad to get back.  I sat back in my recliner and slept for almost 90 minutes after that.

It’s important to keep moving, but I probably overdid it this morning, so I probably won’t walk again until around 5 or 6, weather permitting.  I estimate I’ve walked 6000 steps today so far. I’d like to get that up to 10,000 (in lieu of the biking I usually do), but we’ll see how it goes.

The amount of fluids coming out of my tubes is lessening.  It will still be probably another five days or so before I can pull the tubes out, though,. I have to be getting less than 30 mg over 24 hours for two days running before I can do that.

When I’m sedentary, less fluid comes out.  That’s why I want to stay active, to pump out as much fluid as I can during the day…

TMI. I know.  But there isn’t a lot else to report, because I’m stuck here at home.

I can’t wait to get these tubes out so my skin can close and I can start taking soaker baths again.  I have to wear this belly binder for at least a month, and shower every day until I can soak again…

I’m eager to try my new shirts on without the binder beneath.

It will also be nice to get out of pajama bottoms and into jeans again. None of that can happen until the tubes are out and the binder comes off for good. (I have to wear the binder full time except when I’m showering to help my body reshape itself properly.)

There! Now I’ve exercised my brain a little bit, too, today.
