“Be Not Afraid”

January 12, 2015

I’m firmly convinced that fear kills more dreams than do obstacles and opposition.

How many times have you let a decision slide because you didn’t know if you’d make the right one? Or because deciding would require further action on your part that would put you outside your comfort zone?

It’s time to realize that most fear is baseless. It’s a knee-jerk reaction to doing something different (or more) than the way you’ve been doing it.

As kids, we were fearless.  We were foolish. Some of the stuff we wanted to do would have gotten us killed if we hadn’t had parents to tell us no.  So we learned fear; the only fears we’re born with are fear of falling and fear of loud noises.  That’s the entire list.

Both are legitimate fears. Both signal potential imminent danger. They force us to go into Red Alert.

The rest of our fears are manufactured, or ingrained by older folks.  How many of you have been attacked by a tiger or a shark?  (Very few, I dare say.)  But you’re afraid of the possibility, I’ll wager.  Good for you!  Just don’t let it turn you into a tiger/shark killer. That’s just ego work. Tigers and sharks have their roles to play, too..and they’re usually a helluva long way away from where you play your roles.

If you’re allowing your fear  to keep from doing anything that you know you need to be doing to take the next step to the future you want, STOP THAT!  STOP THAT RIGHT NOW.

You already don’t have the future you want, so you have nothing to lose by going after it, hammer and tong, but everything to gain.

If you need a tried-and-true copywriter to get you where you’re going, think of me.  I’m here to help visionaries achieve their goals.  And as power partners, you’ll help me achieve mine.  How cool is that?  I love win-win scenarios.

Let’s both start winning.  Working separately, we’re less than we can be.  Working together, there will be no stopping us!
