About Professional Copy Writing Services

September 27, 2014

The following true exchange is representative of the kind of communication from potential clients that I get from newbie/start-up business owners and entrepreneurs who don’t understand the value of professional copy writing services. Bless their penny-pinching hearts and white knuckles.

It’s scary taking the leap of faith to hire a copywriter. I get that.

I hope this helps anyone in the same circumstances decide…

Hello Kristine,

I am fascinated by you and your proposal. I would love to hire you on a job but your rate is exorbitant. Wow. Do you really get clients for that amount? Good for you. Best to you, P.

Hi, P,

Indeed I do! The John Assaraf boost has put me in the catbird’s seat at long last. It took me decades but my breakthrough has finally arrived–and my clients always get much more than they pay me. (Just a heads up: If your copywriter doesn’t make you money– a whole lot more than you pay them–you have the wrong copywriter!)

Kris

Well I love that and I am looking for that boost… but in the meantime I cannot afford you!!! If there was a way I could see you making me enough money I would though!  P.

Well, until you give me a shot at it, you’ll never know, will you? John Assaraf and his clients wouldn’t keep me if I wasn’t making them oodles beyond what they’re paying me. He has told some of his clients that I’m his favorite copywriter. So there you have it!

Good luck going with someone cheaper. You usually get what you pay for–but just a heads up: sometimes you can only line the bottom of a bird cage with what you get when you pay less. Good providers can charge what we’re worth because our ROI is robust.

Kris

You should think about a one-time lower fee for clients like me to test you and see if you work. If you indeed do make me enough money I would be happy to pay you more. P

P,

You must be young. You’re certainly naive… (I say this with love.)

When I agree to take on a project, I’m not just laying down words in exchange for dollars: I’m honoring the decades it took me to become a qualified, top-tier writer.

Even more importantly to me, when I agree to take on a project, I’m agreeing to lay down hours of my life in the service of a client’s dreams and goals–hours I will never get back.

At age 63, this matters to me.

If John Assaraf and his clients (and the hundreds of clients I’ve already served, clients whose reviews of my work and their appraisal of my prices you can read for yourself right here under the Testimonials tab) are convinced that what I charge is peanuts compared to their ROI, why would I spend any  more time trying to convince additional people that I’m the full meal deal?

You’d benefit greatly from John Assaraf’s Winning the Game of… [Fear, Business, Money, Procrastination. etc.) coaching programs. You seem so afraid to take the steps that can ensure your success that you’re willing to shoot yourself in the foot unless I cave on my prices.  This indicates to me that you’re operating on a  “scarcity mentality”.

If, as your project description states, you have paying clients who want top-quality writing work, charge them what top-quality work is worth. If you don’t, they’ll think you’re a starving start-up. How has that been working for you? (Business owners want to feel confident that the service providers they hire know what they’re doing and that they’re confident of the outcomes they say they can accomplish.)

Again, I say this with love.  I used to have your mindset. It’s pretty much human nature to want to avoid risk. But your business legacy lies outside your comfort zone–just like my prices. If you want the best, you have to be willing to attract and compel the best providers to work with you.

Asking me to lower my prices isn’t the way to do it.

I wish you all the success in the world.

Truly!

Kris
