Lisa contacted me yesterday morning (Wednesday) via WhatsApp to tell me that Patches would be leaving us that day.
She was in Lisa’s lap in a warm, comfortable blanket, peaceful, breathing intermittently…
I couldn’t help weeping and saying I wished I was there beside her to say goodbye to Patches and to hug and comfort her …
So, she video-connected me on WhatsApp so I could speak to Patches to tell her I love her and goodbye, and to thank Lisa for all she has done for Patches (and for me) since I had to leave them both in the States…
I am sooo grateful she did that.
Here are some of the best pictures that I took of her while she was in my care and home…
As you know from my last blog post, Patches was a wonderful companion, a great patient, and a goodwill ambassador to all humans who met her. (Not so much with other cats, but she didn’t harass or terrorize them, either. She would just give them that “I am Queen” look and they obeyed… or got swatted ONCE! 99.999% of the time, they obeyed!)
I have missed her and will miss her to the end of my days but, like ET, she will always be right here in my heart and fondest memories.
Love you, dear Patches, and love you, too, without limit, Lisa. I know your world is a little emptier without her… mine is too, even this far away from you here in Costa Rica…
