Today I’m going to spend three and a half hours in Grecia doing a few chores and then having lunch with Jon, Francisco, Clarkie and Dale. Looking very much forward to it.
Jon wants me to tell a big cat or DeForest story to the attendees today. I’m up for that!
Wish I had a physical book along, but I can wing it pretty well! I’ll tell my tranquilized cougar story and my Dreyfuss Leopard stories. Those should be real hits.
Don’t know which De story I’ll tell if they ask for a De story. Maybe the pachyderm poop plaque one. That’s always a laugh bringer!
Jon is going to the feria this morning, so I asked him to look for iceberg lettuce (lechuga americano) for me. I know it’s a long shot, but he says they do have it sometimes, and he’ll pick up two heads for me if they do. WOO HOO! I don’t have many greens in my diet, and I should have more, for heaven’s sake!
TO DO LIST IN GRECIA
- I want to get more colones from the ATM at NBCR
- I want to visit Liberty to make sure auto-pay is already attached to my account. I got a communication from Liberty asking me to register for auto pay and I don’t know if it’s legit or a scam, as I’m 99.999% sure that I signed up for auto pay when I got the account, so I want to go in and confirm that and show them the message I got so they can follow up on it if it is a scam.
- I want to pick up another box of hair color. Haven’t used the one I got yet, but I want a back up since my hair color is so hard to find down here. I also need to ask Cat or Jon or someone to recommend a good barber in town. I will need a haircut before too much longer…
- I want to pick up another bag of papas (potatoes)
I made another online grocery order with Mas X Menos this morning, for delivery tomorrow. I thought of additional things I want/need that I didn’t think of before. It’s hard to remember the variety of foods that I had as an emergency stash in my pantry back in the U.S. It’s always good to have a little extra on hand… (Including gallon jugs of/for water!)
I reckon I’ll be putting in close to 7000 steps today while I’m downtown. I usually do about 5K down there. That’s good!
And yes, I’ll take a thermos of water, a wet scarf and an umbrella because, rain or shine, that umbrella comes in mighty handy here!
The grey cat wants to befriend me but Charli keeps saying no
This morning the grey cat was on the setee outside my/our bedroom when I woke up. He was looking right at me. I said hello to him and he acted interested. But as soon as he did, Charli got all bent out of shape, approached the window screen, and hissed and growled at him.
I implored sweetly, “Charli, be nice…” and then went out onto the porch to say hello to him. But Charli was still giving him the stink eye from the bedroom through the screen, so he jumped down from the setee and moved to the side of the casita.
I went there to try to get him to come to me. He’s intrigued as heck, but not willing to risk it yet. Charli has his number, and he’s a gentleman and doesn’t want to start a brouhaha with her.
I think we’ll develop a friendship over time. He’s very interested in doing so; I can tell by his body language.
Cat doesn’t know who he belongs to. She doesn’t think it’s one of her relatives’ cats. He looks well fed and cared for, though, so he belongs to somebody in the vicinity, for sure. Which is good, because I don’t need another cat (Charli assures me).
