WOO HOO! I made my first online order to Mas por Menos with Cat’s help. The total was $130.96 in USD but remember I’m building my food stash from scratch, so I was surprised that the cost wasn’t more. I tried three or four times on my own to order online, but couldn’t get the payment page to work, so Cat came up and figured it all out, confirmed that the address I put in for delivery was correct, and was a total sweetheart about it.
Delivery day is Wednesday
I don’t think I’ll starve to death before that! LOL!
I can always Uber in my favorite Subway sandwich if I have to!
¡Gracias!
Rain Buckets Are Falling on My Casita
When it rains it pours around here:

But ten minutes later, everything slows to a trickle.
And an hour later, the trenches are empty and it looks like nothing happened.
That’s life during the rainy season in Costa Rica. But it’s usually lovely all morning before the clouds come in. I can live with this — happily!
When I decide to let Charli out to discover and play, I will know she will always come back when the clouds open up! She doesn’t like thunder and lightning. She heads for her bomb shelter or under a bed. “Nuts on this crapola!”
It doesn’t make her quake or anything. She just retreats to a quieter, less kinetic place and falls asleep.
Didn’t walk today
I didn’t walk today as planned. By the time I finished rearranging the casita to my liking after a good night’s sleep and ordering from Mas por Menos, it was clouding up and I knew I’d drown if I ventured out. So I’ve put in fewer than 2K steps today so far, and it’s already 4 p.m. Horrors! I usually do at least 7,000 steps every day.
Although I may not ever do that many here. Where I am situated, it is extremely hilly country, so fewer steps will give me a far better workout than I got in Tacoma on mostly flat ground. And it’s higher up than I was in Tacoma, too, by more than 4,000 feet, so my lungs and stamina will need to be developed day by day. But tranquilo! All in good time. Not today. Manana es un dia otro!
I will sit here and learn some more Spanish until bedtime. I’m going to need it to fully join Ticolandia in a measureable manner. And I want to do that. I love this culture and these people.
This place is magical.
