Un dia mas!  One more day!

Eegads….  tomorrow at this time (9 A.M. OR SO) I will be pulling the plug on this desktop and loading it into Lisa’s van.  You won’t hear from me again after that until I’m in Costa Rica ’cause my laptop is already in airplane mode and in my carry on.

My vehicle leaves in just a few minutes.

My translation docs are enroute from the translator to Villas Escondidas, so they should arrive in plenty of time…

This move is getting sooo real… surreal… super real!

Lisa and I are going to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium today. That should keep the edge off.

Patches slept on my pillow or on my chest all night long so I didn’t get much sleep. Maybe six hours. I hope to sleep better tonight.

Walked 10k steps already this morning

Eegads…eegads…eeegads…

This is really happening. I’m goin’ to COSTA RICA!!!  PURA VIDA!!

Evening Update

I gotta say Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium was a BIG disappointment. But after having visited the Auckland Zoo and Kelly Tarleton Aquarium in New Zealand a couple years ago, our own was destined to compare abysmally.

We went to see hammerhead sharks, only to learn they died two years ago.  I saw them back then and Lisa has wanted to see them ever since but we never got around to it until today.  When we heard the hammerheads had died, that took the wind out of our sails, but we managed to have a good time together anyway.

When we got back Lisa loaded her van with the food I won’t be eating, and then  I said goodbye (tearfully) to my beloved Patches.

Now I have Charli sequestered in the house with the kitty door blocked so I can give her the first dose of gabapentin at about midnight to sedate her sufficiently so she won’t feel nervous when we head for the airport tomorrow at around 2:30. She will receive a second dose at noon (2.5 hours before we travel in Lisa’s van) and a third around midnight (if need be) while we’re in the skies heading for Costa Rica. This protocol should keep her happy until noon on the 4th, by which time we will  be at our destination, if all goes according to plan and the two planes arrive and depart on time.

Weighed the luggage again

Made a few adjustments. They both weigh exactly 50 pounds now and the carry on will fit in the allotted space, too, as will Charli and her carrier.

I’ve walked 20332 steps today  — WOW!

No wonder I’m bushed. I NEED TO HIT THE HAY. Tomorrow we fly all night!

HURRAY!

Catch you on the other side, FROM COSTA RICA, WITH LOVE!!!
