I’m super conflicted about tomorrow’s ENTERPRISE FLIGHT memorial service. I’m VERY afraid they will have someone else memorialize De during the event. I provided his DNA and I was invited to speak live at the event. Instead, I videotaped what I intended to say, and Colby Youngblood has assured me they will play it.

But until they actually do, I won’t believe it.

I wish they had decided to use the longer one I wrote before they told me it had to be two minutes or less.  It’s on their website, and I wish they’d edit it down to two minutes and use it, or to use it in its entirety, since everybody in that memorial service loved De; he is’t exactly an unknown in that crowd. In fact, he’s the biggest Trek name aboard the flight (after the Roddenberrys, of course) so I doubt anyone would pitch a bitch about it.

But they’re gonna do what they’re gonna do and I’m prepared to be disappointed — which I don’t want to end up being.

The two-minute one isn’t the best video quality of the two options, either. The image freezes up in a couple of spots.

I need to just stop thinking about it and hope all will be well.

De’s going and that’s really all that should matter. But my heart will be going right along with him and I wanted his sendoff to be as special as he was.
