So far today I’ve walked 7,000+ steps and visited with my landlady’s three doggies for 45 minutes or so (just down the embankment from my casita) because they were feeling lonely and abandoned.  Cat was away for a little while and, since she’s their “pack leader”, they get mournful (yappy and whiny) whenever she leaves the property. Luckily, I’m here when she’s gone and she’s here when I’m gone, so the dogs always have someone to hang with.

I was amazed by how different a view she has from her back yard. Her view is completely blocked by the trees up here next to the casita.  I can see almost directly west, but she can see west and south from her yard.  It’s very lovely.  I imagine it’s absolutely gorgeous at night, too, because there’s a city or town in the distance that lights up after dark, so it probably looks like a carpet of diamonds…
