2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit.
I was born during a Year of the Rabbit (1951) and I’m a Pisces (a water sign), so there ya go!
The last time there was a Year of the Water Rabbit was 1963, so there won’t be another one in my lifetime.
Heck, there may not even be another Year of the Rabbit, period, in my lifetime. (After age 72, all bets are off when it comes to longevity! And that’s all right with me. I’m NOT among the many who who want to live forever, even in an afterlife, although that decision may not belong to me.)
WHAT THIS WATER RABBIT SEEKS
As a Water Rabbit, I’m anticipating lots of positive things for next year, for the first time since COVID. But I’m also anticipating bumps in the road because — hey, that’s life!
All I want for the new year is more peace and goodwill among humans, immense efforts to save Earth from it rapacious abusers, and systems of government that are lightyears more interested in justice and in “the least of these” than they are in oligarchy, authoritarianism and military budgets that destroy lives and decimate goodwill with every strike they make. I’M TALKING ABOUT ALL MILITARY POWERS, especially those the United States, Russia and in every other cruelty-based regime around the world. Military and economic murder are not an answer; they are a scourge!
We need to evolve as a species, something that the powers-that-be don’t really want to see happen. Because when we reach that tipping point and stand shoulder to shoulder against misuse and abuse by the powers-that-be, things will change dramatically for those sitting in the catbird’s seats right now.
They will no longer be our leaders and power brokers.
According to A Course in Miracles, “There is no order of difficulty in miracles” so I’m going whole hog here. I want HUGE miracles right along with the tiny ones that we receive every single day without even being aware of them, and I want slightly larger miracles that astound us when they happen.
The vast majority of the human population will need to realize that we’re all in this together and that, to achieve what our hearts most desire, we have to start by embracing what’s good, kind and decent in each other and by regarding our fellow sojourners (animal, vegetable, mineral and human) as equally sacred not in any “organized religion” sense but in a holistic way similar to what indigenous cultures embraced, where everything is considered sacred and revered so we stop misusing, abusing and overusing our natural and human resources.
We have to stop acting like conquerors and colonists and start acting like a true CIVILIZATION (as truly civil nations and peoples) freed from the tyranny of greed and rapaciousness that has been the bedrock of so much misery for far too long. We need to get rid of classes and castes and approach each other as cherished and revered “thee” and “thou”(without, of course, using these religiously-corroded terms).
We can do it. Yes, it will take a miracle, but “there is no order of difficulty in miracles,” so let’s DO THIS!
